Disappointed with this Pamelas product

I am surprised to be writing that I am disappointed in a Pamela's product having always been a fan. When the frostings came out I was excited to have a convenient source of frosting in a pinch. The directions were easy the prep a breeze but the final product fell short. The frosting was too sweet with an overpowering vanilla taste-and I love vanilla. I would have to say the vanilla tasted artificial since it was so strong. I make a beautiful vanilla buttercream and although I did not expect a final product of this caliber I expected better than what I tasted. Too sweet frosting mix; I'll make my own

I bought this mix because I thought it would be convenient to have on hand on the rare occasions when I bake a cake. But when I made it I found it much too sweet for my taste and I had to add a lot of my own cocoa to cut the sweetness. The mix is basically cocoa and sugar to which you add your own fat (cream cheese butter whatever); next time I'll just mix my own sugar and cocoa and save a little money.More detail ...

Best GF bread mix at best price per pound

Let's face it: most store-bought gluten-free bread is absolutely terrible. This is the best-tasting bread mix for making fresh gluten-free bread at home. With this mix I find that if I activate the yeast before mixing the dough and then keep the dough extra-warm after I shape it I can get the loaf to rise just like wheat bread. Priceless!



It should be noted however this is *not* a good mix to use for pancakes or waffles even if you add your own baking powder. It is too starchy to make a good pancake or waffle and it tends to stick to the pan or waffle iron even when plenty of oil is used.

Good and easy chocolate chunk cookies

The chocolate chunk cookie mix has one big advantage to it as it can be mixed by hand and come out just as well as when made with a mixer. I make the cookies smaller than recommended on the package and have over-baked them using the recommended baking time. They come out crisp but keep well and taste very good. awesome brownies - pancake mix is really good too!

i have tried 3 pamela's products: the brownie mix the pancake mix and the bread mix. first the brownies -- best i've ever tasted - i'm addicted to these things! i tried doing the applesauce substituted for oil and i don't recommend that - the brownies were too dry. the oil recipe is definitely the best -- also substituting espresso for water was yummy -- the pancake mix is really good too. i've made the pancakes and the waffles - the waffles are the best i've ever tasted with or without gluten. my co-worker used the pancake mix as a substitute in a regular recipe that called for all-purpose flour and said it worked great. finally the bread - my friend made me a loaf of bread in her bread machine and it was pretty good --not dry like most gluten-free products. the only thing was that when i tried to toast it the bread remains moist - it won't toast! weird...anyway i recommend all three products and buying them off amazon will save you $1.50 - $2.00 off the package price at the supermarket! A++++ on these products!

I just bought these cookies so I'd get free shipping on a couple of other items I wanted. WHAT A FIND. They are fantastic. I didn't realize I was getting a box of six boxes of TOP QUALITY DELICIOUS cookies. We polished them all off in short order with lots of company at the cottage this summer. My husband was thrilled that they were organic my brother and his wife found them a chocolate lovers delight the grandkids gobbled them up and I was astounded that they were gluten free and wheat free so I could enjoy them as well.
